Petone FC is very pleased to announce the appointment of Charlie Howe as the Liquid IT Men’s First team coach for 2020.

“It is great to have someone of Charlie’s calibre join our club,” says Club Chairman Matt Bliss.

Charlie hails from the Manawatu and has played football and softball for New Zealand at age group level during his career. He successfully coached Napier City Rovers to national league titles and Chatham Cup victories twice, as well as assisting with the establishment of Hawkes Bay United.

On moving to Wellington with work in 2007, Charlie assisted Stu Jacobs with coaching Team Wellington. He also led a delegation to the U17s World Cup in South Korea that year, where players like Chris Wood and Kosta Barbarouses were members of the New Zealand team.

“Next year is a really important year for us as we rejoin the Central League. Charlie will bring a range of skills and experience to assist the players to develop to that next level.”

Charlie said he is excited about working with the players and looks forward to meeting them when he joins the club in early November.
