Paul Whitmarsh appointed Central League coach for Petone

On 16 July the Petone FC Management Committee terminated the contract of Graham Little, the Director of Men's Football and First Team Coach. Rob Houghton, Acting Chairman, said the decision was not taken lightly but it was felt a change was required.

Paul Whitmarsh has been appointed First Team Coach for the remainder of the season and for the Under 19s campaign, culminating in the Labour Weekend tournament in Napier.

'Our first win of the season against Wairarapa United on Saturday night in Masterton has rejuvenated our battle to avoid relegation, and we hope the club can all get behind Paul and the first team in our fight to retain our Central League status for 2017' said Rob.

He also said that 'the Management Committee and club would like to take this opportunity to thank Graham publicly for his efforts over the last three years and wish him good luck for his future endeavours.'

The team's next home game is on Saturday 6 August at 3.00pm against Palmerston North Marist, and they would like to see as much home support as possible.
