We sent a Women's Under 19 side down to the Coastal Spirit U19 Tournament in Christchurch for the first time over Labour Weekend. Despite coming up against some stiff opposition it was a weekend of good football and some great results.

Game 1: Petone 7 - Coastal Spirit White 0

It was a fantastic start for the girls in Christchurch. Coming up against Coastal Spirit White we dominated from the get-go. Michelle Barr scoring four goals and one apiece to Caitlin Hendry, Christine Hosie and Topaz Lloyd-Sanders.

Game 2: Petone 0 - Parklands United 5

A tougher second game caught us out

Game 3: Petone 1 - Cashmere Technical 5

Despite a good performance the last game on Saturday was a difficult one. A few girls with knocks and missing Jemma, our keeper, didn't help. Our young girls stepped up but unfortunately the scoreline didn't go our way. Topaz with the lone goal.

Game 4: Petone 5 - Halswell 2

Putting the tough afternoon behind us the girls bounced back in style. Christine Hosie knocking in a hattrick and goals to Topaz and Hannah Carey sealed the win.

Game 5: Petone 8 - Coastal Spirit White 1

Coming up against group stage opponents Coastal Spirit White the girls were up for it. Michelle Barr picking up another hattrick, Emma Bakhos with a brace and a goal each to Christine Hosie, Owlsca Ballester, and Hannah Carey putting the result beyond doubt.

Game 6: Petone 4 - Parklands Utd Development 1

With one final game squeezed in on Monday morning the girls walked away with a win against Parklands Development side. Yet another hattrick to Michelle Barr boosting her tally for the weekend to 10 with Hannah Carey picking up the other.

The tournament was good learning experience for the squad especially the younger girls. Well done to all involved.
