Continuing on our long tradition of competing in the Napier City Rovers U19 Youth Tournament we sent a team up this weekend.

Game 1: Petone 3 - Miramar Ranger 0

Opening their account in style the Blues put three past Central League powerhouse Miramar. Zach Watson getting a brace and Jack Morrissey helping out with the third.

Game 2: Petone 2 - Island Bay United 1

Coming up against Island Bay in the second game of the day saw another strong performance from our lads. Jack getting a brace to give us a 2-1 win.

Game 3: Petone 2 - Oratia United 0

The last game of the day tends to bring some tired legs. Not the case this time making it three from three to top the group after the first day. Jett Hogg and Zach sharing the spoils and sealing the win.

Game 4: Petone 0 - Birkenhead 1

An early start to day two with an 8:30am kickoff against Birkenhead. Birko taking the win in this encounter but by no means ending our chances in the tournament.

Game 5: Petone 1 - East Coast Bays 0

Rounding out the group stage a point was all we needed to ensure our place in the knockouts. Bouncing back from the loss in the morning well Zach netted again and made sure that we took all three points.

Quarter Final: Petone 0 - Western Springs 1

Western Springs fresh from taking full points in the group stage were our opponents. A tough opponent for sure but in Napier there are no easy games. Despite it being a close encounter Western Springs took the win edging us 1-0.

A very strong showing from the lads this weekend and doing us proud. Well done gents!
